Is vry gud. You should go see. BTW, there’s no post-credits tomfoolery. Save yourself some time unless you like watching credits. That is all.

Agreed. The pacing in the first half is amazing too.

The writing was lackadaisical. This could have been so much better, but I was left disappointed

Lots of good, some poorly executed, and a little bit of bad. Overall, enjoyable, but I’m now depressed.

[VAGUE SPOILERS AHEAD]
It trades on nostalgia a lot. I had seen some rumors that it was, in some ways, a scene-for-scene remake of ANH and I don’t totally dispute that. There are A LOT of parallels. But in the end I still felt like it worked well. It was an enjoyable movie that took, at least me, on an emotional journey (even when I saw a certain thing coming the instant the scene started).
I saw it in IMAX 3D and I think that might be warping my opinion a bit. I usually don’t like 3D and I’m not huge on IMAX (too much screen to take in at once), but this was by far the best 3D movie I’ve seen. It was tastefully done and really made me lose myself in the movie. I get bored at movies easily but this was exciting. It was an experience.
Of course with all things, there will be some people who love it, some who hate it, and many in between. Given the hype, and how years of reflection have destroyed the prequels, it’s perfectly understandable that some would be disappointed with it. Ultimately, I enjoyed it and I think most average Star Wars fans (read: people who don’t worship Expanded Universe content) will too.

The 3D was great. And yeah, as soon as they set up that thing I totally saw it coming too
